Church in Frisco Meeting Hall
As early as 2012, the saints had a strong feeling to look at Frisco for a meeting hall. The Lord made it very clear that it should be in McKinney first. Even after McKinney took the ground in 2014 there was a feeling to continue to look at Frisco. The goal for McKinney at the time is that it would have a small meeting hall and that it would be more of a footstool to the north and east Texas.
In 2017, the property at 3755 Cottonwood St was purchased for $750,000.00 which included 1.89 acres and a 4 bedroom sister’s house. We paid cash for it from the giving of the saints and from a private loan. The agreement was that we would pay off the loan before we would start the construction. In 2019, we paid off the remaining balance and began to start the all the preplanning process. After some outside opposition that lasted roughly two years, we began to break ground around November 2023.
During the first 6 months, we encountered a lot of delays, including rain and engineering hurdles. In May 2024, the foundation was finally poured. This was a major milestone for the progress. Another major milestones is the completion of the detention pond in July 2024.
As we stand today, the drives and parking lot is being prepared which is expected to be poured in the first part of September followed by the framing, roof, windows and so on. Lord willing, the brothers believe that the meeting hall should be completed by March 31, 2025 with an updated budget of $2,500,000.
